Job Description

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Educational Leadership Education Administration or a closely related field is required
  • Professional experience in the specific course content area is required
  • The ideal candidate has a terminal degree (e.g. PhD ED JD)
  • An active Principal Special Education Director and/or Administrator License is highly desirable
  • Current engagement in professional development activities in the specific course content area is highly desirable

All employees of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) are required to complete training on policies and procedures administered by the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) under the supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Institutional Equity/Title IX Coordinator. Required training includes: understanding and reporting conduct prohibited by the sexual misconduct protected class nondiscrimination and conflicts of interest in cases of amorous relationships policies related retaliation and compliance with accommodations regarding disability pregnancy or related conditions and religion. All employees are also designated as responsible employees and are required to report conduct prohibited under these policies. Additionally when a person discloses a pregnancy or related condition to an employee that employee must provide that person with the Title IX Coordinators contact information and inform the person that the Title IX Coordinator can coordinate specific actions to ensure that persons equal access to the universitys education programs or activities. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a premier educational institution that prides itself on academic excellence research and community engagement and is actively seeking a Lecturer for P12 Educational Leadershipto join our team! UCCS is committed to academic excellence professional development and fostering an environment that supports innovation and student success.

Salary:$3000 per 3credit course. Courses with low enrollment (less than 12 students) are paid based on a prorated salary range. This position is Exempt from theFair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

TheCollege of Educationat the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool ofLecturersin theP12 Educational Leadershipprogram from which future appointments to temporary nontenure track positions will be made. Appointments are parttime (less than 50% time) and will be made semesterbysemester.

Lecturers will teach P12 Educational Leadership classes. For example American Foundations of Education; Leading Teams and Organizations; Research and Statistics; Vision Ethics and Politics for School Leaders; Legal and Financial Aspects of School Administration; Data Driven Program Evaluation and Curriculum Assessment; Collaborative Leadership for Equity and Community Outreach; Human Resources Management and Staff Development; Instructional Leadership; Supervision and Evaluation of Instruction; Social Foundations of Educational Trends; Masters Research Lab; Transformational Leadership in Central Office Administration; Quality Systems Management in Central Office Administration; Special Education Leadership; and Practicum in School Leadership. Classes are offered online inperson and through hybrid means.

Tentative Search Timeline

This is an evergreen Lecturer Pool for the P12 Educational Leadership at UCCS. Applications will be reviewed on a semesterbysemester basis as business needs arise.

Because this appointment is temporary in nature you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave medical or retirement benefits. However you are eligible to accrue sick leave at 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.
