Job Description
As a Software Engineer you will provide technical services for application and web modernization working within the Microsoft technology stack to develop and enhance the California Natural Resource Agency (CNRA) applications and websites. This role requires strong development skills attention to accessibility compliance and the ability to contribute to collaborative technical teams across government projects.
This position is being submitted as part of a response to a Request for Proposal (RFP). Employment is contingent upon contract award. If awarded the expected period of performance will be July 2025 through June 2028.
Worksite: 1600 9th Street Sacramento CA and 715 P Street Sacramento CA
Work Schedule: Standard CNRA business hours; must be available for stakeholder coordination and issue escalation
What Youll Do
- Support the full software development life cycle for application and website modernization
- Perform system enhancements bug fixes upgrades and mobile solution development
- Assist with migration to new platforms (e.g. WordPress Sitecore)
- Develop and test applications following WCAG 2.0 and ADA Section 508 standards
- Participate in content accessibility remediation and testing
- Collaborate on data visualizations dashboards and GISenabled map applications
- Contribute to technical documentation training materials and knowledge transfer
What Youll Bring
- Meets MSA classification for Programmer; education and experience validated
- 5 years of fullstack web development with Microsoft stack (.NET C# SQL Server)
- 5 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks
- 3 years developing WordPress websites and using Sitecore CMS
- 3 years of mobile solution and web design experience following industry best practices
- Experience in WCAG 2.0 / ADA 508 compliance XHTML/CSS integration and accessibility tools (e.g. WAVE)
- Familiarity with assistive technologies (screen readers magnifiers voice tools)
- Optional but beneficial: experience with GIS mapping OutSystems lowcode platform and data pipeline development
