Job Description
THE POSITION
Are you passionate about working in the field of forest management habitat management forest pest control and nursery culture Join the Pennsylvania Game Commissions Forest Management Division as a Forest Technician. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will work with regional forestry staff on habitat management and promoting young forests in the Southcentral Region of our State Game Lands. This includes following instructions provided by the forester to mark the boundaries of various areas within the forest examining trees and timber to conduct volume computations and collecting field data. You will also participate in the application of herbicides for forest habitat management and maintenance as well as conduct surveys and prepare forest habitat type maps for use by foresters. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 40 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
This position will be headquartered at the Perry County Habitat Management Crew headquarters office
The focal management area will be in the counties of Snyder Mifflin Juniata Perry and Cumberland
but work will cover all of the Southcentral Region.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- An associates degree in forest technology; or
- Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Condition of Employment:
- This positionrequires possession of a valid PA noncommercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
