A federal government department is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to support key data and ICT initiatives. The successful applicant will be required to work fulltime onsite in Canberra for the first three months. Following this flexible working arrangements including some working from home may be considered subject to departmental approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Analyse and improve reporting metrics and business processes.
- Develop dashboards and data visualisations using Tableau and SAP BusinessObjects.
- Evaluate and recommend solutions based on business needs and feasibility.
- Produce clear documentation including business and technical specifications costing proposals and wireframes.
- Contribute to skills transfer and knowledge sharing within the department.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in large or complex ICT/data projects (5 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of business analysis frameworks aligned to SFIA Level 5 (business situation analysis requirements definition consultancy feasibility and process improvement).
- Skilled in stakeholder management workshop facilitation and translating business needs into technical outcomes.
- Proficient in Tableau SAP BO Power BI SQL and Excel.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. Statistics Mathematics Science) are desirable.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
This role sits within a highperforming data team that delivers analytics and reporting solutions to support strategic decisionmaking across government.
