Facilities Maintenance Tech

JBS is seeking an hourlyFacilities Maintenance Tech 2nd shift Team Member! Position starts at $25$35 per hour based on experience. Facility Maintenance Technician performs basic and routine facilities maintenance construction and repair tasks according to service quality and safety standards. To be a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 35 years of related experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Monitor the water treatment facilitys performance to ensure effective treatment and maintain facilitys regulatory compliance.

2. Monitor the refrigeration system and adjust maintain proper cold room and freezing tunnel temperatures with little to no supervision. Must maintain equipment for peak efficiency and power saving while meeting the requirements of OHSAs PSM and the EPAs RMP programs.

3. Routinely inspectingelectricalsystems such as wiring fixtures and appliances utilizing basic electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters ohmmeters and mega ohmmeters Identifying faults or hazards. Troubleshooting system failures. Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement. Conductingmaintenancerepairs on old or faulty fixtures.

4. Perform highly diversified duties to install and start up production machines and other plant equipment.

5. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.

6. Follows all lock out tag out procedures.

7. Performs equipment PMs

8. Keeps record of all work performed.

9. Updates maintenance history logs and completes the required paperwork.

10. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repair.

11. Understands and follows the company GMP policy.

12. Understands and follows the company safety rules

13. Cleans and maintains work area.

14. May be required to work long hours and weekends.

15. May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification
• At least 35 year of industrial maintenance experience required.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ability to trouble shoot and fix electrical issues.
• Wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
• Possesses the skills needed to repair maintain and trouble shoot machinery.
• Ability to speak read and write English.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be wellorganized with good attention to detail.
• Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others.
• Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.

Work Environment

ACTIVITIES:

Very active position requiring standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing all day.

HEARING:

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTION:

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists hands and or fingers.

VISUAL ABILITIES:

Acute close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with a partner throughout the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to work for long hours in a nokill food processing environment where it is wet damp and cold. Temperatures are around 34 degrees fahrenheit and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays.
