SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Instructional Design and Support Coordinator leads and supports districtwide efforts to strengthen curriculum design instructional practice and educator development. This role guides the vision design and implementation of highquality educational programs focusing on continuous improvement innovation and culturally relevant learning strategies. In collaboration with district educators the coordinator drives initiatives that enhance student learning and identities and strategically address the racial achievement gap. Through innovative practice and reflective leadership this role advances instructional excellence and the brilliance of each learner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the Instruction and Learning Department to meet student needs and align PK12 standards curriculum assessment instruction and professional development with district goals.
  • Provide work direction and accountability for Instruction and Learning staff including curriculum oversight educational programming assessments QComp and Federal Programs.
  • Lead the development implementation and evaluation of instructional programs that reflect best practices and align with district and state standards.
  • Build systems and processes to support content leads and directors in the daily management of projects. Design benchmarks and metrics to assess school department and area progress aligned with the District Strategic Plan.
  • Manage train and develop Instruction and Learning staff; set priorities assign tasks resolve issues and monitor performance to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Initiate and facilitate key meetings with content leads directors and crossfunctional academic teams to ensure coordination and collaboration.
  • Provide educators with ongoing professional development and coaching to improve instructional practices and promote culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Promote equity and inclusion in all instructional practices and contribute to closing the racial achievement gap through targeted interventions and innovative strategies.
  • Facilitate curriculum review and adoption processes ensuring culturally relevant and highquality instructional materials are implemented districtwide.
  • Lead the integration of instructional technology and digital tools in ways that support student learning and are aligned with equityfocused pedagogy.
  • Serve as a resource in developing educator evaluation systems and support continuous professional growth.
  • Act as the point person for curriculum and instruction pilots plan and support design teams and manage instructional materials procurement.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff vendors consultants and grant partners; ensure compliance with grant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with school and district leaders to analyze student achievement data and drive improvement through evidencebased decisionmaking.
  • Communicate vision goals and progress updates to internal and external stakeholders increasing community awareness of curriculum and student achievement.
  • Support the design and implementation of instructional coaching and mentoring systems to strengthen teaching practice.
  • Coordinate administrative operations troubleshoot issues and develop curriculum instruction and professional development solutions.
  • Promote a work environment grounded in respect and cultural competence; actively work to dismantle systemic inequities.
  • Stay current with educational research policy developments and emerging trends through selfdirected learning and professional development.
  • Contribute to the districts overall success by performing additional duties as assigned by the designated supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Deep knowledge of PK12 curriculum development instructional design assessment practices and adult learning principles.
  • Strong understanding of culturally responsive teaching equityfocused pedagogy and strategies to close the racial achievement gap.
  • Researchbased curriculum planning development assessment and instructional methodologies.
  • K12 curriculum and technology to support instructional programs.
  • Familiarity with state and federal education regulations including ESSA QComp and Title programs.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting student achievement data to inform decisionmaking and improve outcomes.
  • Ability to lead and manage complex projects across departments with clear benchmarks accountability and measurable results.
  • Skill in designing and facilitating highquality professional development for educators and instructional leaders.
  • Ability to supervise and support a diverse staff team promote collaboration and foster continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders including educators families and community partners.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology integration and digital learning environments.
  • Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources strategically and equitably.
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving skills; able to prioritize multitask and respond to urgent issues effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing writing and handling instructional materials or technology.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly required to talk hear and communicate effectively in person and via electronic devices.
  • Frequent movement within and between schools district offices and meeting sites.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of district for meetings training or conferences.
  • Visual acuity to read printed materials and digital screens.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced dynamic environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Duties are performed in a standard office setting school buildings and various educational environments.
  • Frequent travel between district sites and occasional offsite locations is required.
  • May require evening or weekend hours for meetings professional development or special events.
  • Fastpaced collaborative work environment that requires flexibility and adaptability.
  • Exposure to typical school and office noise levels with occasional interruptions.
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple demands deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Regular interaction with administrators educators support staff families and community members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Masters degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction Educational Leadership or a related field preferred.
  • A valid teaching license is required and an administrative or supervisory license (or eligibility) is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership coaching or curriculum development role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading professional development for adult learners.
  • Proven track record of implementing instructional programs that improve student outcomes and advance educational equity.
  • Experience working in diverse educational settings and collaborating with crossfunctional teams.
