YOUR MISSION

As a Director of Engineeringat Glovo you will take full ownership of a cluster which is a complex technical domain consisting of at least 40 engineers with a direct reporting line of 36 Engineering Managers and up to 2 Principal Engineers. You will have significant impact at the cluster level as well as influence across Glovo and Delivery Heros broader tech organization working closely with Product Data Business Operations and Clevel stakeholders.

You are a strategic peoplefirst leader who combines deep technical understanding business acumen and a strong leadership philosophy to drive impact at scale.

THE JOURNEY

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead a cluster with 40 engineers through 36 direct EMs fostering highperforming teams.

  • Build and adapt your leadership framework to suit organizational needs as they evolve.

  • Provide continuous performance management and meaningful 360 feedback.

  • Ensure clarity of managerial expectations across your teams and alignment with company OKRs.

  • Create an inclusive engaging and purposedriven culture within your cluster.

Business Awareness & Strategic Goal Setting

  • Partner closely with Operations and Product leaders to drive business outcomes.

  • Use datadriven approaches to identify issues assess impact and define strategic responses.

  • Maintain transparency with your teams providing rich context around priorities and decisions.

  • Understand core business and financial concepts to align engineering investments with business value.

  • Build communicate and execute your clusters strategy and OKRs in alignment with company goals.

Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Own communication and alignment with global and local stakeholders including Clevel representation of your Clusters objectives and achievements.

  • Govern clusterlevel budgeting and resource allocation effectively.

  • Ensure visibility and synchronization across initiatives within and beyond your cluster.

Technical Strategy & Operational Excellence

  • Drive architectural direction technical quality and operational maturity in your area.

  • Lead the implementation of best practices for incident handling system design security and performance.

  • Build futureready infrastructure and application architecture that balances scalability maintainability and cost efficiency.

  • Establish and enforce engineering excellence standards across your domain.

Global Collaboration & Engineering Citizenship

  • Champion initiatives that drive collaboration across Glovo and the broader Delivery Hero ecosystem.

  • Helping harmonize practices between Glovo and DH tech teams.

  • Foster a culture of transparency open communication and learning from both success and failure.

  • Proactively identify crossdomain gaps and lead initiatives that elevate engineering practices globally.



WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • 10 years of professional software engineering experience including 5 years in engineering leadership roles.

  • Proven track record in leading multiteam organizations (40 engineers) in complex technical domains.

  • Deep understanding of engineering and product strategy architecture operational excellence and crossfunctional execution.

  • Strong command of cloud infrastructure scalable system design and cost optimization techniques.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in highgrowth environments ideally within B2C platforms or marketplaces.

  • Solid understanding of business fundamentals and financial frameworks.

  • Experience working in a global/multicultural tech organization is a strong plus.
