Job Description:
L3Harris Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Senior Specialist Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City facility.
Position Overview:
The Project Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for the lifecycle support of protected SATCOM data link systems from conceptual development through product phaseout. This includes proposal support requirements analysis and management task planning technical documentation (including generation of Statements of Work and specifications) design oversight participation design synthesis in a multifunctional engineering environment build and test support subcontract control risk management input integration and verification test support system deployment support and inhouse technical support during the operational lifecycle of the system.
Essential Functions:
- Experience working with RF lab test equipment including signal generators spectrum analyzers and power meters.
- Experience with modem testing/design
- Experience with network analysis tools such as IXIA and Wireshark.
- Experience designing building testing and optimizing complex electrical systems.
- Provides extensive systems engineering expertise in a broad field of engineering research evaluation and development for highly complex and technical SATCOM airborne and ground products
- Assists in the planning and conducting of technical projects or portions of projects.
- Assists in the capture and/or management of customer and derived requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility insuring traceability from a verification test matrix back to original customer and system level derived requirements.
- Provides support to lead engineers in developing technical specifications interface control documents test plans and procedures configuration analysis and processing solutions and test conformance to specifications.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6years of prior relevant (Systems/SATCOM) experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 5years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 10years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in product development a plus (preferably in military application environment).
- Experience with type 1 encryption products and cyber security
- Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual).
- Problem solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Understanding in coordination of project(s) and efforts of technical support personnel.
- Ability to productively contribute work ideas and collaboration as part of a team.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
