An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced media professional to provide high quality media relations support to Croydon Council in Londons largest borough.
Working in a busy and friendly communications team youll play a key role in protecting and enhancing the councils reputation through media handling and planned proactive media relations activities.
Reporting to the Media Relations Manager youll be accomplished at working with the local and national media across broadcast print and digital with the ability to think on your feet prioritise and make informed decisions.
Were looking for a wordsmith who can produce accurate and engaging copy for press releases and opeds as well as Croydons own digital channels and print communications. Youll be adept at social media content creation and know how to tailor messages for a variety of channels and audiences.
Youll have a proven track record in media and public affairs with a good understanding of how local regional and central government works. As a member of the corporate communications service you will work with senior officers and politicians and will be expected to use your influencing skills to help get their messages across.
The role requires a nationallyrecognised communications qualification (or equivalent)with recent relevant experience. Media law experience is desirable.
