We are the Amazon Worldwide Fulfillment (Global Logistics) team in Europe and are looking for an Operations Specialist to join our Customs Brokerage and Trade Compliance team. As part of the Worldwide Fulfillment team your role is pivotal in pioneering new ways of thinking designing and delivering innovative solutions impacting customers across the world.
As an Operations Specialist in the EU Customs and Trade Compliance org you will lead the customs brokerage operations and cross border compliance working with both internal Amazon and external Customs Brokers. You will manage crossborder Customs operations and independently lead programs to improve trade compliance in our crossborder exports network.
Key job responsibilities
Manage the daytoday performance (on time performance defect rate cost per unit) of multiple Customs Brokers.
Ensure Brokers perform to the agreed operating standards and that volumes are allocated according to the commercial agreement.
Ensure that Brokers and the crossborder network is fully compliant with external and internal trade regulations and policies.
Lead Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) with Brokers to address daytoday performance issues and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) involving senior management to discuss strategic and tactical initiatives.
Identify atrisk operations and develop/execute contingency plans to minimize service failures.
Work closely with the internal stakeholders to troubleshoot defects and optimize processes.
Work closely with Brokers to develop plans for Peak periods and provide onsite support where required.
Support the operational component for new Broker onboarding and product launches that add value for customers and/or Amazon.
Travel within the EU/UK will be required at least twice a year.

Amazon Worldwide Fulfillment (EU Global Logistics) team innovates builds and operates crossborder ecommerce shipping fulfillment and customs capabilities to enable global growth. The team manages Amazons global delivery offering across 200 countries serving a diverse and unique set of customer needs.
Crossborder B2C is a foundational piece of Amazons international consumer business serving customers across 190 countries. Exposure to or basic level experience in international trade compliance or operations risk management.
Completed Bachelors Degree or higher.
Proven experience and track record of delivering high quality results in the fields of logistics and supplier management.
Fundamental knowledge and exposure in international logistics and trade.
Strong analytical/quantitative skills and ambition to develop these further with proficient data analysis and reporting skills. (MS Excel SQL).
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
Masters degree or equivalent
Fluency in other EU languages (French or German)
Ability to deal with ambiguities conflicting priorities and multicultural environment.
