IT Infrastructure Solutions Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design IT infrastructure solutions including servers storage and virtualization based on business requirements.
• Setup servers install and configure AIX & RHEL operating systems and other system software onpremises and on AWS Cloud.
• Keep hardware firmware operating systems and system software up to date.
• Perform regular system monitoring performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal system performance.
• Review security vulnerability reports regularly and remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
• Provide day to day operational support such as user and filesystem management server and storage resource assignments etc.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Provide technical support for server and storage related incidents.
• Participate in oncall rotation to provide offhours support.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies based on system recovery objectives.
• Monitor backups and fix issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises to validate documented procedures.
• Automate build and operational tasks through scripting and automation tools.
• Develop and maintain documentation regarding system configuration operations and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in application migration from onpremises to the Cloud.
• Provide support for hybrid environments with onpremises and cloud components.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience

• 10 years of handson experience with AIX VIOS PowerVM PowerHA VMR/DR and IBM Storage Scale.
• Familiarity with IBM hardware such as Power9 & Power10 frames HMC 7063.
• 2 years of handson experience with Red Hat System Administration.
• 2 years of handson experience with AWS Cloud.
• Experience with Hitachi storage management.
• Experience with scripting and automation tool Ansible.
• Experience with backup software such as CommVault and Veeam.

Education/Training

• University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Relevant Technical Certifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components including servers storage networking and virtualization technologies.
• Good understanding of IT security principles and practices.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Selfmotivated with a proven ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Proven ability to plan realistic process and solution designs appropriate to identified risk scenarios.
• Must be a creative and strategic thinker working comfortably in a highly collaborative environment and be effective in a constantly evolving environment.
• Must be naturally and innately curious a lifelong learner have a thirst for knowledge and can remain calm and composed in times of uncertainty and stress inspiring the same in others.
• Excellent leadership communication and organization skills with a resultsoriented mindset
• Strong strategic planning and transformation discipline with experience building and communicating business cases for technology change.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with both business and IT stakeholders and leaders as well as related IT project and operations teams.
• Ability to assess necessary activities and prioritize for completion of assignments using excellent time management prioritization skills and work ethic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
