Job Summary:

Ironworks the inhouse creative agency for Caterpillar Inc. is looking to fill an Art Director role within the agency. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and collaborative individual who possesses a unique and wellrounded creative skill set with a proven track record for conceptual development strategic thinking and an eye for worldclass design and execution. These individuals carry previous inhouse or external agency experience which guides their ability to create and confidently express compelling ideas which influence internal teams and crossfunctional departments.

What You Will Do:

• Consistently demonstrates exceptional problemsolving conceptual development and graphicdesign skills.

• Exercises independent decisionmaking and creative judgement without oversight in the development of creative concepts and project development.

• Selfmotivated and collaborative spirit with the ability to positively influence and communicate with colleaguesteam members and clients.

• Reviews work and provides objective feedback to creative team members including Graphic SpecialistsGraphic Designers Production Designers and creative members within the photo and video team.

• Leads communicates and effectively presents concepts and ideas internally to teams as well as externally to clientsduring meetings and presentations.

• Possesses expertise in brand development including a strong understanding of how to incorporate the brand throughout all aspects of the work.

• Ability to work and guide others under pressure maintaining quality and attention to detail under tight deadlines.

• Supports the Creative Director and a team of writers graphic designers web developers photographers and videographers with development of concepts strategies and create cuttingedge targeted communications.

• Effective in translating business partner needs into smart measurable creative strategies.

• Contributes strategic ideas and innovative thinking that support business objectives.

• Plays an active role to help lead strategic brainstorming sessions.

• Provides art direction and mentorshiptojunior designers copywriters and other members of the creative team toinfluence a culture of creativity collaboration and highquality

What You Will Have:

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.
Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors service providers contractors consultants and suppliers).
Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent working experience

• Handson art direction or senior level design experience in an agency or inhouse creative team

• Experience leading the design of projects from concept to completion

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suiteincluding Illustrator InDesign and Photoshop) (ex. Of experience would include laying out documents in InDesign knowing the ins and outs of Illustrator and Photoshop)

• Ability to provide clear and timely art direction and objective feedback to individuals and teams both internally and externally

• Ability to multitask and perform in a fastpaced deadlineoriented environment

• Must be able to present a portfolio of work that displays a range of designs and creative executions that highlight conceptual thinking
