Job Description


We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting individuals and communities through outreach education and service initiatives. We are currently seeking a skilled and missionaligned Funding Specialist to support our fundraising and development initiatives. This individual will play a key role in identifying funding opportunities crafting compelling proposals and fostering relationships with grant makers and philanthropic partners.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research new grant opportunities aligned with our mission and programs.
  • Draft and submit persuasive Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) grant proposals and reports.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data and information for proposals.
  • Maintain a grant tracking system with deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundations and philanthropic partners
  • Ensure timely submission of materials and compliance with funding guidelines.
  • Contribute to fundraising communications and development efforts as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support to the development team

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Nonprofit Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of grant writing experience preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Familiarity with funding networks including those supporting missiondriven or valuesbased work.
  • Experience with government or institutional grants and compliance preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt messaging to align with both faithinformed and secular funding audiences.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management tools.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
