About the Office:
The Mayors Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) advises the Mayor of the City of New York on criminal justice policy. MOCJ develops and implements strategies with partners inside and outside government to reduce crime and incarceration and to promote fairness and legitimacy. MOCJ works with law enforcement city agencies nonprofits foundations and others to implement datadriven strategies that address current crime conditions prevent offending and build strong neighborhoods that ensure enduring safety.
About the Role:
The Senior Budget Manager under the supervision of the Budget Director is responsible for the financial planning management and reporting related to all budgetary activities within MOCJ. This role requires a high level of financial acumen attention to detail and strong communication skills to effectively manage funds ensure compliance and provide accurate financial reporting in alignment with NYC and MOCJs financial goals and objectives.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Contribute to the development of strategic financial plans and initiatives.
Conduct financial analysis to support decisionmaking cost allocation and resource optimization.
Assist in developing tracking systems and provide regular analytical reporting to monitor budget and grant utilization.
Interacting with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) while serving as an advocate for MOCJ on budget and other OMB matters such as helping to monitor items currently before OMB.
Provide edits to the agencys budget in preparation of the financial plans.
Submit budget modifications as necessary to fund ongoing contractual and agency needs
Certify that available funds exist for specific expenses in the format of Fiscal Certifications including tracking all submissions.
Work with crossfunctional teams to assess procurement needs establish requirements and streamline purchasing processes.
Work closely with stakeholders to track grants spending and process revenue recognition documents within the NYC Financial Management System.
Coordinate with relevant agencies and stakeholders to facilitate timely funding acceptance.
Helping to develop and implement grant strategies and plans to secure funding for the agencys programs and initiatives.
Assist in grant documentation applications preaward and postaward management and monitoring.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications :
1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative analytic coordinative supervisory or liaison responsibilities
3. Do you have a fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a states Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question 2 above
4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions 1 2 and/or 3 above
