Responsible for the daily staffing and administration of personnel and resources within the Central Monitoring unit.
Job Responsibilities
Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements including accreditation legal and The Joint Commission.
Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in the unit.
Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget.
Coordinates staff scheduling educational and development activities and performance evaluations.
Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care patient flow clinical standards policies and procedures.
Assists in maintaining educating and monitoring central monitoring unit operations.
Assists in hiring training directing developing and evaluating personnel within the unit.
May be required to monitor and manage supply orders and inventory as needed.
Manages patient care assignment.
Provides health educational needs for patients/families.
Performs staff level duties as needed and required in assigned area.
Qualifications
Associates degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR
Associates degree or higher in related field required upon hire
A combination of education training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience required
BLS Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND
CRAT Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within 24 months of employment in this position
