Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced technology communications expert to join its Industries Communications team. The AWS Telco Energy and Industries Communications lead will be responsible for executing highimpact integrated public relations (PR) campaigns that showcase how leading telecom and energy companies are innovating with AWS. We are looking for a candidate that has experience managing multifaceted proactive and newscycle driven media relations campaigns.
The candidate should have indepth media relations expertise including but not limited to securing top tier tech and trade press opportunities driving influential stories from beginning to end executing event strategies and engaging nontraditional and traditional influencers and working with customers to develop compelling storylines. This position requires an understanding of the intersection of technology and regulated industries to execute creative PR plans with highimpact results. The Telco Energy and Industries Communications lead will work across multiple teams with sometimes competing stakeholders resulting in a steady cadence of coverage press engagement and awareness of cloud computings transformational impact in the industry.
Key job responsibilities
Creating and executing proactive creative and integrated PR campaigns
Developing media strategies that create a cadence of press opportunities that elevate the AWS story
Handling complex fastmoving and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism
Managing relationships with reporters and influencers across toptier business and technology press trade publications and nontraditional outlets (podcasts YouTube newsletters)
Developing stories with customers and partners about their cloud strategy and use of AWS services including artificial intelligence data analytics and industryspecific solutions
Advising on industryrelated trends events and challenges as well as guide any reactive communications efforts
Cultivating and maximizing relationships with customers including business leaders technologists and PR teams
Crafting compelling story ideas content and messaging
Leading media programs for AWSowned and industry/customer/partner events
Managing PR agencies

You will need to understand the intersection of technology and the telco and energy industries to execute highimpact and creative PR plans. You will work across multiple teams sometimes with competing stakeholders to produce a steady cadence of coverage influence conversations press engagement and awareness of cloud computings transformational impact across industries. 7 years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
Bachelors degree
Excellent written and oral communications skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
