Job Description

A leading Canadian sustainabilitydriven engineering consultancy is expanding its District Energy & MEP team in Calgary. We re hiring a Mechanical Engineer to spearhead centralplant and lowcarbon retrofit projects for universities healthcare campuses and downtown mixeduse districts. You ll design nextgeneration thermal networks (steam hotwater chilledwater) highefficiency plants and integrated HVAC systems that help clients hit netzero goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thermalload assessments hydraulic modelling and lifecycle cost analysis for districtenergy networks.

  • Develop HVAC / MEP designs (Revit AutoCAD HAP TRACE) from schematics through IFC including heatpump CHP and wasteheat recovery solutions.

  • Produce P&IDs equipment schedules and specification packages; stamp drawings to CSA B51 ASME ASHRAE 90.1 NECB City of Calgary codes.

  • Interface with electrical structural and controls engineers; coordinate BIM clash detection with project BIM/VDC manager.

  • Lead site investigations commissioning plans and performanceverification testing.

  • Mentor EITs and act as clientfacing technical lead during designbuild and IPD workshops.



Requirements

  • . (Alberta) in Mechanical Engineering (or eligible for APEGA registration).

  • 7 years design & delivery of districtenergy plants central utility plants or largescale HVAC/MEP projects (>5 MW thermal).

  • Proficiency with Revit MEP AutoCAD PipeFlo or similar hydraulic modelling tools.

  • Strong understanding of carbonreduction technologies: heat pumps geothermal TES CHP energyrecovery chillers.

  • Proven clientliaison and projectmanagement skills; ability to present to municipal officials and campus boards.
