QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience working in a setting with children or adolescents.
- Minimum of 2 years of college or have passed the Para Pro Test or be willing to prepare and take the Para Pro Test.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal & Special Education Administrator
JOB GOAL: To assist teachers in various classrooms with supporting students academic and socialemotional needs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with teachers to assist students with their social emotional needs and academic progress
- Reinforce school and classroom expectations
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher
- Assists teachers in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students their needs interests and abilities
- Guides independent study enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher
- Supervise testing and makeup work as assigned
- Participate in professional development
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by teachers and/or the building principal or special education administrator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract.
