Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working in a setting with children or adolescents.
  • Minimum of 2 years of college or have passed the Para Pro Test or be willing to prepare and take the Para Pro Test.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal & Special Education Administrator

JOB GOAL: To assist teachers in various classrooms with supporting students academic and socialemotional needs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work with teachers to assist students with their social emotional needs and academic progress
  2. Reinforce school and classroom expectations
  3. Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher
  4. Assists teachers in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students their needs interests and abilities
  5. Guides independent study enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher
  6. Supervise testing and makeup work as assigned
  7. Participate in professional development
  8. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by teachers and/or the building principal or special education administrator

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Per Contract.
