JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Area Operator. The Lead Area Operator is responsible for leading an assigned Area Operating team that is responsible for operating measuring and maintaining L.A.C.T. units A.C.T. units and pipeline pump stations including aboveground storage tanks.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform all duties associated with lease data management system including by not limited to: Collect accurate measurement readings collect and analyze samples and monitor custody transfer operations of various crude oil types being gathered and transported through the gathering and pipeline system. Collect measurement information and write End of Month volume tickets used to reconcile system over and short.
- Perform inspections of LACT units tanks station piping and electrical equipment.
- Occasionally perform/witness meter proving in assigned areas.
- Monitor LACT units remotely via SCADA system platform and utilize various measurement software.
- Interact and assist with customer relations that pertain to the operation of LACT units
- Manage and delegate tasks projects and responsibilities to Area Operators
- Operate LACT units motoroperated valves oversee motor control centers and operate low and medium voltage switchgear and power handling equipment.
- Perform minor mechanical or electrical repair of measurement equipment including but not limited to sampling equipment water cut monitors (B.S.W.) liquid flow meters (Coriolis) temperature and pressure transmitters and flow computers.
Education
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
Work Experience
- 2 years of API measurement and lease operations experience is preferred.
- Strong computer (M.S. Excel MS Word Outlook Internet) and communication skills.
- Experience with operation of L.A.C.T meters and crude station equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of various crude grades and analyzing technology L.A.C.T. unit design and operations electronic flow computers densitometers automatic temperature averages pipeline operations and proving techniques.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Works both indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment with temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
- Uses physical force to lift push pull and hold equipment and tools. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Climb and work at various heights and may work in standing sitting lying down crouched or kneeling positions. Must be able to bend stoop move from ground level to higher levels.
- Routinely reacts to visual aural and other signals including alarms and instructions and is required to visually inspect work.
- Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
