Lexington ISD is a 3A school with a successful four teacher agricultural program in Lee County Texas. Lexington is approximately equidistant to Bryan/College Station and Austin. We are in the Star District and Area XII. We provide a wide range of agricultural educational opportunities for our students. Expectations beyond the classroom for this position include (shared across the Ag/FFA teaching team) attendance and representation at the county and major shows CDE/LDE events conferences FFA conventions officer campus events meetings and LCJLS (Lee County Junior Livestock Show) meetings. This person should be able to with the teaching team manage a comprehensive agriculture program that includes a variety of agriculture course offerings. The departmental Programs of Study include: Environmental and Natural Resources Plant Science Animal Science Applied Agricultural Engineering Primary classroom responsibilities will include: Livestock Small Animal/Equine Advanced Animal Science and Practicum of Agriculture. For the past two years we have offered Dual Enrollment Animal Science in partnership with Tarleton State Universitys Tarleton Today program. Flexibility in course offerings aligned with a coherent sequence is available. Individuals should be able to credentialed students in an aligned industry based certification. Typically the available options through the CEV Multimedia platform that are aligned to course content are utilized with success. Teaching credentials should include: a bachelors degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate (or alternative certification program eligibility with statement of eligibility) in Agricultural Science or closely related coursework.
