Job Description

The Digital Learning Teacher is a high school teaching position in Digital Learning which provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in both marketing and entrepreneurship. This position will deliver industrybased instruction that develops student competencies leading to postsecondary education and employment. Students explore the basic principles of business including business law marketing & finance costbenefit analysis supply and demand entrepreneurship and bookkeeping. ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction for Marketing and Entrepreneurship familiar with and teach the fundamentals of entrepreneurship (e.g. concept generation and development business planning and goal setting initial investment partnerships networking startup logistics etc.)Work cooperatively with other staff members at the school. Communicate as needed with school guidance counselors parents and administrators. Assess and report student performance to parents. Recommend improvements for the scheduling and facility needs. QualificationsMassachusetts certification in Instructional Technology Specialist K12 or a Teacher of Business 512 Initial (preferred).Previous secondary teaching experience (preferred).Demonstrated ability to utilize Socratic approach and to incorporate thinking skills in understanding of appropriate class management working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these Information Andover Public Schools (APS) seeks candidates who embody our ethos which includes valuing the identities of all students high expectations for all students teaching excellence collaboration innovation respect and is committed to hiring and supporting a racially and ethnically diverse faculty and staff.
