TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 1.0 FTE; 12Month position
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision the Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the implementation and coordination of the districts hiring processes and policies for classified positions. Responsibilities include performing professional technical and analytical human resources duties in recruitment & selection classification & compensation program compliance records management and special projects.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Supports principals and school leaders with meeting staffing needs and supporting district recruiting efforts.
- Schedules employees applicants and/or other applicable individuals for examinations
orientation sessions training sessions and/or other related activities. - Oversees the accuracy of human resources databases and websites to ensure accurate data input.
- Consults with staff and managers to analyze facilitate and resolve HR issues; interprets policies and advises employees and supervisors regarding HR issues policies and procedures.
- Responds to requests for information and assistance from employees management outside agencies and the public.
- In conjunction with the HR Director plans and coordinates the recruitment and selection process; monitors hiring process to assure adherence to HR policies.
- Monitors documents and policies for compliance with federal state and district policies and practices; oversees the maintenance of HR records and confidential employee personnel files; assures compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assists the HR Director in policy administration including researching and interpreting regulations. Performs research and analysis on special HR projects.
- Assists with developing and conducting new hire orientation meetings.
- Monitors and keeps accurate records of orientation checklists and evaluations conducted for classified employees.
- Reviews and processes personnel actions related to employment contracts and
personnel information changes; enters and updates information in a database to meet human resources and payroll deadlines. - Provides administrative support which may include: sorting records; coordinating
meetings; preparing and disseminating communication materials; typing and creating a
variety of correspondence announcements records forms and reports; and
performing other related activities. - Responds to requests for information from employees and/or the general public over
the phone in person and via email regarding a variety of Human Resources
procedures programs job opportunities and/or other related information. - Completes background checks and employment verifications utilizing standard
- Compile and analyze classified staffing by school/department.
- Maintains knowledge of the Arizona Uniform System of Financial Records to authorize payroll to initiate compensation actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.
OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:
Low risk Work is routinely performed in indoor environments including exposure to noise and being on your feet for extended periods of time. May require standing in inclement weather including summer heat.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Valid AZ Dept of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Associate degree in Human Resources business or public administration or an equivalent combination of academic preparation and Human Resources experience (minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience without a degree) from which comparable knowledge skills and abilities have been achieved may be acceptable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Demonstrated team leadership database management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal written and presentation). Experience working in an educational or governmental business environment is highly desirable.
- The chosen person must be results oriented with a demonstrated ability to produce specific and measurable results.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources business or public administration preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Handling sensitive and confidential issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal State and local laws codes regulation requirements practices and procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Visions Software
- Training development and delivery experience. Preferably in an educational environment.
- Knowledge in HIPPA FERPA FMLA STD EEOC ADA ASRS and LTD.
- Recruitment strategies and laws and regulations relating to EEO and AAP.
- Procedures for management of public sector personnel files and confidential records.
- Knowledge of applicable District policies and procedures.
- Analyzing HR issues collecting information and recommending methods procedures and techniques for resolution of issues.
- Ability to develop unique and innovative solutions to problems.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with coworkers vendors staff the public and others having business with the school district.
- Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
