Job Description

Job Title: HR People Operations Coordinator
Location: Auburn NY 13021

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Shift Timing: 8 am 5 pm
Payrate: $22/hr. - $34/hr.

Overview:
The HR People Operations Coordinator is the main point of contact for employee and manager questions related to HR payroll and benefits. This role supports HR operations by handling system transactions maintaining records supporting onboarding and offboarding and ensuring a high level of customer service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to HR-related questions via email phone and in-person
  • Process transactions in HR systems like Workday and Cisive
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding including I-9 and E-Verify
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure documentation compliance
  • Support employees with benefits timekeeping and system access
  • Keep HR policies and portal content up to date
  • Review and approve personal information changes
  • Escalate issues to HR teams as needed
  • Provide support for union-related HR tasks including:
  • Job postings bidding contract compliance and orientation
  • Entering union pay step increases and updates in Workday
  • Assisting with union benefit and contract-related inquiries

    Other Tasks:
  • Assist with audits and compliance reviews
  • Support investigations and special projects
  • Submit IT and system requests
  • Track employee call-outs and late arrivals
  • Help coordinate temporary/contractor hiring and timekeeping

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in HR Business or related field (Bachelors preferred)
  • 3 years in HR support or administration
  • Understanding of HR practices and labor laws
  • Strong communication problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with HR systems (e.g. Workday)

Work Environment:

  • Office setting with light lifting (20 25 lbs)
  • Regular sitting standing and interaction with employees
