Job Description
Our Emerging Talent Programs which includes Interns Trainees and Finance Rotational Associates offer unique opportunities for students recent graduates and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies TV shows and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks realworld experience and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This Summer/Fall Trainee position is from May/June through December 12th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for entrylevel talent or recent graduates interested in jumpstarting their career in a particular field.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Screen Gems Pictures develops and produces genre thrillers scifi action and horrorthemed theatrical motion pictures as a standalone unit under the auspices of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Worldwide Motion Picture Screen Gems is a small division and has full responsibility for bringing its product to market our trainees are exposed to all aspects of making movies as well as what it is like to work for one of the major motion picture companies.
Screen Gems is searching for creativeminded hardworking and driven candidates for a development intern role. Over the course of the traineeship the trainee will learn about the Screen Gems brand and the production process (i.e. creative development casting).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with scheduling answering phones and office assistanttype tasks
- Reading and providing coverage for incoming submissions and project drafts
- Research and compile lists/vision boards of potential actors directors and writers for upcoming films
- Additional support with projectrelated research for films in creative development
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion and focus on filmed entertainment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Web/techsavvy to monitor and evaluate trending topics and ideas on social media
- Good eye for creative materials and topics in the zeitgeist which will aid executives in brainstorming for projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree and at least 1 year of desk experience.
