Job Description


Are you a passionate and skilled Human Resources Leader looking for the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in the disability services sector

  • Location Negotiable Dubbo (preferred) Orange Bathurst or Wagga Wagga. Some travel will be required.


About the role

The People and Culture Manager leads a team of three driving proactive strategies and managing services encompassing misconduct performance return to work employee engagement and retention. This role is also key to the successful delivery of organisational change projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coach guide and support management and team with people management matters

  • Employee relations and engagement

  • Manage misconduct performance and return to work at Westhaven including reporting on trends and proactive approaches to create a safe and respectful work environment

  • Retention and Engagement Strategies Diversity and inclusion strategies and Leadership development

  • Policy procedure and practices development and review


To be at the forefront of this opportunity you will have:

Knowledge

  • Contemporary knowledge of human resource organisational policies and practices

  • Knowledge of current employment legislation

  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability in sound case and investigation management

Skills

  • Advanced problem solving capabilities confidence and emotional intelligence that enable you to negotiate and resolve complex situations

  • Professional relationship management and influencing skills with a service oriented outlook

  • Highly developed organisational skills and capacity to prioritise competing demands

  • Highly developed interpersonal communication including both written and oral skills

  • Effective conflict resolution skills negotiation mediation and decisionmaking skills

Experience

  • Willingness to be a team player with a high attention to detail and systems oriented approach to work

  • The ability to interact positively at all levels including dealing professionally with managers and staff from a broad range of educational and cultural backgrounds.

  • Experience in a highly regulated environment such as disability aged care or health would be highly regarded.


Essential requirements of the role:

  • A current NSW Drivers licence

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check (NDISWC)
