NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK Candidates for the position must be licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Chapter 74 Early Education & Care Instructor or have at least 3 years work experience a Bachelors degree or higher MA EEC Lead Teacher license and/or in the process of obtaining a Chapter 74 Early Education & Care license. Candidates for this position will be expected to implement instruction with a strong focus on Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks. Successful candidates will have previous experience in early education programs. The candidate be responsible for teaching topics such as child development theorists lesson planning positive guidance and classroom management. Individuals applying for this position will commit to work collaboratively with instructors within and across all disciplines as required to assist in implementing an academy structure. Candidates will participate in Professional Learning Communities on schoolwide department goals and academicvocational integration activities. Candidates will ensure personal professional growth on a yearly basis with a focus on continuous improvement on student learning. Major Responsibilities: Plan implement and update curriculum based upon the Massachusetts Career and Technical Eductional Frameworks that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students. Attend all meeetings as it relates to student suceess and achievement such as parent meetings and IEP meetings. Assist with transportation and supervision of students at externship sites. Provide support to teachers in the Colonial Childrens Academy including coverage for teacher breaks and supervision of preschool and high school students. Actively work with the Program Advisory Board local business and industries and other industry experts for continuous program improvement. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Communicate with extern placement sites daily provide student supervision. Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as provided. Maintain all records necessary for reporting student grades performance and the documentation of students using Minutemans competency tracking system. Track and maintain student work experience hours to apply for MA. Department of EEC license and sign off on hours upon program completion. Counsel with colleagues and students on a regular basis. Prepare and/or assist in the development of a departmental budget. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Maintain safe working conditions of classroom/shop facilities. Attend staff meetings. Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the Director and/or Assistant Director. Pf. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION Licensed as a Chapter 74 Instructor by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Early Education & Care is required. If not licensed individuals must provide: Bachelors degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught Three years documented fulltime work experience directly related to early education & care Possession of a current MA Department of Early Education & Care lead teacher license for Preschool Willingness to go through the application process for licensure. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks for Early Education & Care is preferred. Previous experience with a SMS preferred but not required. Citizenship residency or work VISA in United States required. Ability to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff. Conditions of employment Equipment Used: Copier SMART board computer phone. Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and move around frequently. Candidate will need to split their time between the Early Education classroom CCA preschool and Minutemans child education extern sites.
