Job Description
Rising Tide Charter Public School is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for theschool year. Applicants must have a strong background in Special Education (a degree with a concentration in the subject area and/or licensure in Moderate Disabilities) as well as an interest in taking an inquiry and skillsbased approach to teaching and learning. Responsibilities include coteaching core academic classes providing small group instruction when appropriate supporting a caseload of students with IEPs writing and updating IEPs and progress reports and collaborating with other teachers to ensure that accommodations and modifications are being must hold a Moderate Disabilities license in Massachusetts an equivalent license from another state or have successfully completed an approved undergraduate or graduate program in special Profile:Rising Tide Charter Public School (Rising Tide) is a free charter public school in Massachusetts. Rising Tide serves approximately 620 students in grades 512 from 20 towns in the schools designated region; the majority of the students are residents of Plymouth. Rising Tide provides an academically challenging environment with high standards for all in a safe small and rewarding setting. Teachers develop the curriculum based upon the schoolwide objectives benchmark skills and subject area essential questions; the curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks. Teachers are encouraged to utilize an inquirybased approach for building skills content knowledge and understanding within the classroom. At Rising Tide fulltime teachers are a part of gradelevel and curricular teams and are given opportunities for leadership within the school.
