Salaried or Hourly: Salaried

Qualifications:

• Bachelor-level degree in education required.
• Valid PA Certification in Special Education N-12 required.
• Special educationexperience at the middle and/or high school level is preferred.
• Current child abuse criminal history and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the federal government and commonwealth of PA (conducted by the CCIU upon hire).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areasand in core content as aligned to PDE State Standards.
• Plan curriculum lessons and special education programs and teaching methods.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance test scores and observation of behavior.
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
• Maintain communication with other professionals and parents to support the educational program.
• Oversee and complete all special education processes and documentation for assigned students.
• Prepare and disseminate report cards educational records classroom observation records and other documentation as required.
• Function as an integral member of the service team to address needs of students and for organizational support.
• Stay up to date and utilize current best practices and research-based methods.
