Salary: per annum (prorata for part time)

Working Hours:37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

As Stores Assistant you will assist with planning and managing stock levels for all stores inventory items ensuring efficient stock layout maximising utilisation of space and robust operating procedures including stock control internal requisition of goods and efficient delivery service to depots and direct to sites as appropriate. You will work with the procurement team to ensure compliance with purchase ordering and receipting rules.

You will verify the quality and quantity of deliveries received for all operational depots ensuring remote staff follow agreed procedures and negotiating with suppliers regarding damage reports and invoice queries

You will observe and enforce safe working practices within the stores and depot environments giving regard to statutory legislation such as COSHH Regulations Health and Safety and Procurement best practice and ensure the maintenance of detailed accurate stores documentation including computerised records corporate and localised systems.

You will process and input to systems and generate reports as required take responsibility for localised training and support the storekeepers and any other delegated staff within the depot and stores environment.

This role is a Safety Critical Post and consequently subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. A copy of our Substance Misuse Policy and Procedure is available upon request.
