Job Summary:To ensure that our schools are safe predictable and responsive for all students theExpo ALC Coordinator will strive to create a structured positive and academicallyfocused school culture. S/he will model how to build strong mutually respectful relationships with students and families and support teachers to do the same. S/he serves as the team leader for student accountability (discipline) and identification of additional resources and programs for families (academic support enrichment preventative programs etc.). The Coordinator is the keeper of culture ensuring that our schools ways of being support high levels of student growth and achievement. This position requires a creative and inspiring professional with adult leadership experience high energy excellent organizational abilities and a talent for creating a warm and supportive environment for students. The Coordinator will serve as a member of the administrative team dedicated to cultivating excellence throughout the school and community.
Hiring Specifications:
Education
- Appropriate degree(s) earned from an accredited college or university
Certification
- Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
- Iowa administrators license with PK12 Principal and evaluator endorsements; preferred

Job Duties:
- Serves as an advocate forstudentsand staff.
- Provides leadershipofstaff andstudents.
- Managesstudentdiscipline issues including attendance and works with teaching teams to provide a positive collaborative learning environment in all classrooms.
- Communicates with parents and staff pertaining to attendance and behavior issues.
- Work collaboratively with the Juvenile Court School Liaison on truancy issues.
- Work with the administrative team to collect and analyze data regarding attendance tardies and behavior to improvestudentacademic performance.
- Act as a role model to staff in the areasofbehavior management documentation and positive interaction withstudents parents and administrators.
- Assists teachers in overseeing 504 accommodation plans forstudents.
- Leads the effort to design and implement new programs that reflect the changing needsofthestudentpopulation.
- Plans conducts and attends meetings withstudents staff parents and the community.
- Meets with outside agencies to coordinate services forstudentsand families.
- Coordinates efforts with district school counselors and atrisk personnel to provide for the needsofstudentsand families.
- Assists with supervision requirements beyond regular school hours on a regular basis.
- Assists the building administrator(s) in the interviewing processofbuilding personnel.
- Assists the building administrator(s) in planning and facilitating professional growth for certified and classified staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
In addition to these responsibilities teachers assigned to special federal and state programs or grants must abide by the federal legislation and the rules and regulations that govern
program/grant compliance. Specifically:
TITLE I Public Law 103382 the rules and regulations that govern Title I Helping
Disadvantaged Children Meet High Standards of the Improving Americas School Act of
1994 and the Districts policies and procedures for implementation.
SPECIAL EDUCATION Public Law 94142 amended by IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Iowa Administrative Code the federal and state rules and regulations to govern the operation and administration of special education and the Districts policies and procedures for implementation.
