Come join the Learning & Innovation department at Scottsdale Arts as the Community Engagement Coordinator. In this position youll collaborate with teams across the organization to design communityfocused missionbased programming that engages and inspires diverse audiences through the arts. Youll put your creative spin on programs such as Memory Lounge spark curiosity in attendees to Canal Convergence and help visitors make meaning of exhibitions through workshops and learning guides. Most importantly youll work with a functional team that values collaboration creativity and each members unique contribution. As a member of the Learning & Innovation team at Scottsdale Arts the Community Engagement Coordinator collaborates with the Community Engagement Manager and team to develop and implement missionbased initiatives across the organization for visual performing and public art. These initiatives include adult programs such as our signature Memory Lounge program for adults with dementiarelated disease workshops at Canal Convergence partner programs with the library or other community groups and other engagement offerings. This position works directly with adult audiences and partner organizations to engage new and existing audiences through innovative and creative learning experiences.

Shift/Hours: Weekdays with some evening and weekend work required

Here is what you will get to do:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Under direction of supervisor)
1. Program Design and Delivery
a. Designs and implements educational programming related to assigned portfolio taking into consideration audience needs program mission and outcomes desired.
b. Continually strive for creative approaches to artsbased education through ongoing research and implementation of best practices; makes proactive recommendations related to changes to programs to maximize positive results.
2. Program Coordination:
a. Coordinates internal and external sources to ensure deliverables for programs. Contract supervise and coach teaching artists overhires and/or volunteers.
b. Maintains relationships with appropriate contacts in the community to ensure adequate flow of communication and information and programs meet shared goals.
3. Program Administration:
a. Develops feedback mechanisms designed to monitor programs obtain measurables and evaluate success of program.
b. Tracks administrative processes such as attendance statistics contract requirements supplies survey results budget reconciliation.
4. Organizational Collaboration:
a. Represents the Scottsdale Arts Education team at designated or assigned events.
b. Works within Scottsdale Arts to ensure placement of programs are meeting divisional departmental and organizational vision.
5. Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. 1. Education: Bachelors degree in a related field including but not limited to art education museum education or museum studies is required. Masters degree and/or current Arizona teaching accreditation preferred.
2. Experience: A minimum of three years of related experience including informal teaching adult education volunteer management teaching in a classroom setting arts administration or any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.
3. Attributes:
Enthusiastic selfmotivated and passionate about art education.
Experience working with children and/or adults in a leadership role.
Experience designing programming in informal learning settings.
Strong organizational planning research problemsolving creativity and teaching skills.
Spanish language skills a plus.
Understanding of Arizona curriculum standards.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure; compute rate ration and percent.
Exceptional communication skills; written and verbal including public speaking to small groups large groups and 1:1.
Ability to work in a shared / open office environment.
Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Office Google Apps Tessitura and Event Pro.
4. Work Environment: Employee is frequently required to sit but is also active during programs. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision and depth perception. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed for position.
5. Other requirements:
Must possess valid drivers license and driving record which is acceptable to the organizations insurance carrier.
First Aid/CPR certification preferred
Must possess and maintain valid fingerprint clearance card.
Must be 18 years of age or older
