JOB SUMMARY: The Business Development Associate will play a key role in driving earned revenue through strategic corporate partnerships and event bookings. Reporting to the Director Earned Revenue this parttime inthefield position focuses entirely on building new business and revenue streams for MCASD venue rentals program developing and managing relationships with corporate clients and encouraging them to utilize the museums distinctive venue spaces for private and public events. Support the mission and vision of museum throughout the performance of job duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Build a portfolio of new rental clients outside of Tripleseat.
- Act as a primary point of contact for the clients brought in by the Business Development Associate until events are contracted.
- Identify engage and nurture relationships with prospective corporate clients decision maker contacts clients of wealth the Convention Center and more.
- Promote the museums venue spaces for corporate events meetings galas and other functions.
- Work closely with the Director Earned Revenue to strategize and target new business sectors to promote MCASDs rental program.
- Enter and manage new leads and contacts into our event rental software Tripleseat.
- Assist with entry of rental bookings into the master calendar; oversee venue availability and calendar changes.
- Facilitate the handoff of confirmed bookings to the Venue Sales Associate and Manager Earned Revenue Operations ensuring all relevant details are communicated clearly for successful event execution.
- Work with the Manager Earned Revenue Operations and Venue Sales Associate to ensure they have all the necessary information to properly execute rental events draft contracts and communicate with rental clients.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase bookings and maximize revenue.
- Monitor and help with basic monthly reporting to show trends success and areas of growth.
- Maintain database records on client interactions track leads and report on progress toward revenue goals.
- Serve as a representative of the museum in all interactions with potential business partners embodying the institutions mission values and commitment to excellence.
- Represent the museum at industry networking events and site visits as needed.
- Conduct site visits with potential renters of the museum as needed or determined by the Director Earned Revenue.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Outstanding interpersonal and problemsolving skills with the ability to maintain professional decorum and interact with all levels of employees vendors guests and rental clients while building business relationships. Clear persuasive verbal and written communication. Ability to understand client needs and confidently discuss terms. Strong closing skills and ability to turn leads into booked events. Proactive selfstarter with the willingness and skills to take ownership of sales projects from start to finish. Strong organizational skills with an emphasis in attention to detail and followup. Intermediate technical skills in MS Office Excel and proficiency in cash/credit handling. High school diploma and five years of experience in business development hospitality or event sales or any equivalent education and experience. Knowledge of or interest in the art and/or museum field a plus.
