Job Description

Procurement Officer

Cairns

The Opportunity

The Procurement Officer is responsible for procurement activities within designated product and service categories ensuring alignment with established Supply Chain processes and organisational goals. The role focuses on delivering value for money through strategic sourcing effective negotiation and costeffective procurement practices. Collaborating closely with an array of stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination timely delivery and operational efficiency.

Whats involved

  • Oversee fullcycle procurement processes in line with policy including stakeholder engagement sourcing evaluation and RFQ awards ensuring compliance with organisational goals and thresholds
  • Prepare and manage procurement documentation coordinate logistics and ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Perform market analysis and cost benchmarking to maximise value uncover savings and improve supplier performance.
  • Develop procurement strategies that ensure business continuity mitigate risk and uphold regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs align procurement with production and optimise inventory levels.
  • Track procurement performance through key metrics to drive continuous improvement and accountability.

Youll need

Essential

  • 2 years of relevant experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent business
  • Experience in a computerised ERP environment preferably IFS or Pronto
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing / Procurement Officer or similar
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with crossfunctional teams

Desirable

  • Certificate level qualification in procurement supply chain contractual law or similar
  • CIPS Qualifications
