Job Description
The Group Head Digital Marketing will lead the development and execution of Old Mutual Limiteds eCommerce Performance Marketing Digital Marketing and strategies for Old Mutual Limited
across the Group.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the strategic development engagement sales growth of Old Mutual digital platforms (web and mobile platforms).
- Responsible for Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategies Implementation Policies and Governance for Old Mutual.
- Responsible for analytics and implements initiatives to optimize sales by increasing conversion and decreasing site abandonment. The incumbent will lead strategy and instrumentation of Digital analytics personalization.
- Responsible for implementing new digital sales campaigns maintaining existing campaigns driving strategies for more sophisticated testing and the development of differentiated inline shopping experiences for unique customer segments.
- Responsible for a range of marketing automation campaigns and the implementation of adequate marketing automation platforms/solutions for the business.
- The job holder is responsible to deliver and implement personalisation initiatives across our digital assets that entices traffic customer satisfaction and conversion.
- Design new personalisation initiatives tailored and targeted offers relevant communications across digital touchpoints including but not limited to Website Mobile email marketing and other communication channels.
- Responsible for optimising audience segmentation that drives customer satisfaction and conversion rate improvements across our digital channels
- The position will have the responsibility to lead the following critical capabilities for the group: Digital Marketing Performance Marketing Digital Marketing Analytics SEO customer retention and persistency and Digital Adoption
The role will have the following main priorities/deliverables:
- Develop and implement strategies to grow and maximise digital sales and revenue with a relentless focus on customer acquisition conversions revenue and the management of digital acquisition and retention.
- Lead Performance Marketing SEO and Digital Marketing function by identifying and applying the changes required to processes capabilities and culture in order to achieve the successful implementation across the group.
- Deliver the overall commercial results for Digital sales within the agreed upon risk appetite for the group.
- Deliver alwayson Brand online conversation calendar to ensure organic presence of the brand is inline to bring to live the Brand Promise.
- Lead the Search Engine Optimisation strategy and implementation for Old Mutual.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Create Digital sales value (net revenue) via Online App WhatsApp and USSD platforms.
- Drive and execute against performance marketing/Digital Sales and commercial objectives.
- Track and measure Digital Sales effectiveness and make course corrections as necessary
- Generate and implement new sales and digital marketing initiatives to increase sales and profitability.
- Partner with brand teams on creation of Digital materials that leverage shopper marketing insights and best practices.
- Developing sales collateral and other selling tools to aid with digital sales and product penetration.
- Find openings with external sources and activate digital sales opportunities.
- Deliver regular Digital Sales performance to the group Senior Management on digital sales initiatives and associated results.
- Staying current with financial services eCommerce trends and platforms regulatory and legal environment.
Additional responsibilities
- Optimize Digital sales profit and consumer experience metrics for Old Mutual sites in conjunction with creative and marketing teams and driving day to day execution of strategies promotions tactics and campaigns.
- Manage expense budgeting and forecasting along with vendor relationships.
- Provides consistent and effective leadership and mentorship to advance the skills coordination and overall effectiveness of crossfunctional teams for purposes of progressing the groups digital sales objectives.
- Develop and optimize differentiated online shopping experiences for unique customer segments incorporating emerging omnichannel capabilities (e.g. mobile) and based on targeted online marketing campaigns.
- Analyze current and past trends monitor performance indicators highlight trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances. Perform appropriate competitive analyses benchmarking and research to drive solid ROI analysis and recommendations.
- Provides leadership to crossfunctional teams during the entire lifecycle of sales journeys optimization including deployment and postdeployment activities relating to eCommerce.
- Proactively identifies problems that arise in the daytoday execution of the digital sales plans outlines options and recommends solutions.
- Anticipates upstream and downstream impacts of the eCommerce plans and works with internal business groups to adjust ways of working and practices in order to support performance and outcomes for the business.

Role Requirements
- 8 to 10 years management experience.
- At least 3 years experience at executive level.
- 57 years as a Performance Marketing strategist working on digital consumerfacing channels and platforms.
- 5 years Performance Marketing experience optimally with mobile and Omnichannel focus.
- Ability to selforganize multiple tasks and to complete them on time with a clear focus on quantitative results.
- Demonstrated bias for action with strengths in problem solving issueresolution ability to work in a deadline driven work environment attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts (at the functional level) schedule tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas.
- High level of intellectual curiosity and can successfully operate in ambiguity.
- Ability to put team before self and be energetically collaborative.
- Compelling and effective at communicating and influencing outcomes with and presenting to the group executive management.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Digital Marketing Performance Marketing Digital business Digital analytics and Content Strategy and Management Personalisation and targeting.
- Demonstrated strong business judgment and decisionmaking skills; ability to identify prioritize and articulate highest impact initiatives.
- Strong crossfunctional relationship builder who can work with other functions Customer Experience Design Business process and Operations.
- Ability to lead and implement all the necessary steps required to launch and Digital sales program with retailers or other online sales outlets.
- Results oriented selfstarter and entrepreneurial.
- Solid experience in Performance Marketing Personalisation Marketing automation Digital Analytics Content Management with due consideration for SEO and analytics platforms such as Google analytics Customer Engagement displaying financial acumen and implementing partnerships for business development purposes.
