Job Description
Optical Retail Sales Associate (fulltime) needed at Pearle Vision in Lakewood. The Best Candidate will have solid customer service and/or retail sales background.The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills excellent phone manners and a basic administrative background. Looking for a longterm employee ONLY. At first you will be a retail sales and customer service associate. Then you will be learning to be an Optician. Advancement opportunities available.
Responsibilities at first:
- You will be provided with your own desk supplies phone and a computer
- Responsible for answering and directing all incoming phone calls and taking messages
- Responsible for greeting all customers entering the facility and directing them to the appropriate areas
- Giving customers paperwork to fill out before their eye exams or sale
- Making and confirming eye exam appointments
- Getting information on vision insurances from customers
- Pulling all patients records for today and tomorrow and then filing them away at the end of the day
- Calling patients to let them know their contact lenses or eyeglasses came in
- Doing other related clerical duties as directed
- Putting patientsrecords in the computer
- Light cleaning like vacuuming trash cleaning windows and frames
- Pricing cleaning and organizing eyeglass frames
- All training and support provided. You will not be on your own. We are here to support you.
Responsibilities after a few weeks:
- Learning about different contact lenses
- Learning about different eyeglass lenses
- Learning to read eyeglasses and contact lens Rx
- Learning to identify what eyeglasses and contact lenses a patient wants and recommend the righteyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Onthespot coaching and encouragement provided. You will not be left to your own devices. We are here to support you.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Very comfortable using personal computers
- Familiar with MS Word and MS Excel
- Have a VERY pleasant phone voice and mannerism
- Desire to work hard and get things done
- Experience with a retail or clerical establishment
- Attention to details and follow up
- Reliable and dependable
- Great people skills
About the Job:
We are in the business to do eye exams and sell eyeglasses and contact lenses. We need a retail customer serviceperson who will be trained to be anOptician down the road. We are open Mon thru Fri 10 AM to 6:30 PMand Sat9 AM to 5 PM and Sundays we are closed. You will be working 4 weekdays and Saturdays with one weekday off. Working Saturdays is a MUST. This is a fulltime permanent position. We are looking for a longterm employee who wants to come to work and make a difference and loves helping people. Wagesplus benefits are offered.
