Sacred Heart Glyndon Parish is seeking candidates for a Director of Facilities and Maintenance. The Director of Facilities and Maintenance oversees the physical plant of the Parish and School by developing and maintaining sound facilities management practices. The Director will also plan and procure all projects. Additionally the Director is charged with oversight of the Facilities Department and its staff. The Director will be working with most of the Parish community the Archdiocese of Baltimore and School.
This is a full time benefit eligible position. The hours are 6:30 am 2:30 pm.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the management administration and stewardship of all temporal goods and services and ensures the provision of support to all Pastorate facilities.
- Ensures that all Pastorate Mission support activities are oriented towards and supportive to the primary Mission of Evangelization including:
Contract Management
Property Management
Facilities Maintenance - Provides longterm maintenance and preventative maintenance plans for all Pastorate facilities.
- Provides timely response to maintenance requests and performs handson maintenance including trouble shooting repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Creates and manages an efficient work order request process for routine and emergency work orders.
- Prepares and maintains a budget for all facilities and assists in forecasting the financial requirements of longterm maintenance and potential capital expenditures.
- Manages the bidding and procuring of contracts for work outside the scope of the abilities of the staff and resources of the Pastorate.
- Schedule coordinate monitor and evaluate the work of approved Contractors.
- Actively participates in Pastorate planning and budgetary activities to assure alignment of the Mission with Pastorate resources.
- Orders and maintains inventory of all maintenance supplies.
- Maintains files with all blueprints contracts equipment warranties and service manuals.
- Performs regular systems checks to include: boilers HVAC elevator fire systems circulators electric water supply sewage roof etc.
- Ensures staff compliance with OSHA requirements and use of PPE and manages the creation and implementation of safety procedures accordingly
- Treats ice and manages snow removal seasonally and as required in a timely manner.
- Supervises the following Pastorate staff: Maintenance Security and cleaning personnel.
- Active member of Pastors Senior Staff and other committees as required.
- Must be able to respond to maintenance needs 24 hours a day when warranted i.e. snow removal emergency maintenance repair or as deemed necessary by the Pastor.
Position Qualifications
- Practicing and devoted Catholic who is fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- 5 or more years experience in the management and oversight of facilities operations including maintenance work.
- Experience with planned maintenance and budgeting processes. Flexibility to manage multiple projects; ability to resolve conflict effectively; problemsolving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in supervising paid staff and volunteers.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite of Products including Word and Excel for jobrelated use.
Range: $Annualized
