Position Overview:
Dedicated and experienced Medical Director to oversee andenhance the quality of medical services provided at Veterans Skilled Nursing Facility in Buffalo WY. Reporting directly to the Administrator for the Department of Health the Medical Director will ensure that residents receive appropriate high-quality and person-directed care in a safe and compliant environment.

Qualifications:
- Education: MD/DO from an accredited institution
- Licensure:
- Active WY medical license (unrestricted)
- Board Certification (Internal Med/Geriatrics/Family Med)
- Experience:
- 5 years clinical experience (LTC/skilled nursing)
- Healthcare leadership/administration
- Technical Skills:
- PointClickCare EMR proficiency preferred
- Regulatory compliance (CMS/state standards)
- Soft Skills:
- Interdisciplinary leadership
- Veteran-centered care advocacy
- Strong communication leadership and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate medical services to ensure residents receive appropriate and adequate care.
- Serve as a liaison between the Agency and the broader medical community.
- Organize and coordinate physician and professional services related to resident care.
- Develop and implement medical policies and procedures incollaboration with the Director of Nursing and with Administrator approval.
- Attend and contribute to Quality Assurance and Health Care meetings.
- Establish systems to monitor employee health and promote an infection-free environment.
- Review incident and accident reports to support a safe and sanitary facility.
- Identify health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in responding to health care surveys and inspections.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of resident care policies and staff development programs.
- Submit periodic consultation reports with findings andrecommendations.
- Submit monthly invoices detailing services rendered and billing codes.
- Utilize the PointClickCare medical records system for documentation and communication.
- Promote person-directed care including support for advanced directives and end-of-life planning.
- Provide feedback and performance evaluations for physicians and healthcare practitioners.
- Intervene when medical care deviates from current standards.
- Develop systems to monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory and scope-of-practice standards.
