This is an INTERNAL POSTING open ONLY tocurrentthe NC Department of Public Safetys current employees and eligible RIF candidates. Temporary employees are eligible to apply.

This Recruitment and Staffing Supervisor for Juvenile Justice (JJ) manages all aspects of the Divisions use of the applicant tracking system and staff who use it. The position will supervise three permanent HR Technician IIs and three temporary HR Technician IIs.

Job duties for this position include:
  • Overseeing staffs usage of the Applicant Tracking System and all associated tools
  • Providing oversight to a team who will post positions for the Juvenile Justice Division
  • Reviewing work of staff to ensure it aligns with Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) policies and procedures related to job postings applicant screening and candidate referral
  • Giving consultative advice to Hiring Managers to ensure that the recruitment process fits the needs of the manager
  • Tracking deadlines and metrics to promote staff efficiency and good customer service related to job postings applicant communication and screening and candidate referral
  • Serving as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to field staff for recruitment and hiringrelated questions
  • Determining team priorities to focus on high vacancy recruitments and difficulttofill classifications
  • Providing guidance to staff and JJ leadership on Merit Based Recruitment and Selection strategies
  • Administering the Divisions HR SharePoint page including maintaining uptodate contacts forms policies procedures and job aids for staff
  • Creating and providing reports to address HR data requests from the Recruitment and Hiring Manager and Division leadership
  • Producing regular reports on vacancy rates turnover time to hire applications received applicant demographics and other ad hoc recruitment and retention reports
  • Assisting with salary requests as needed for selected candidates

This is a fulltime position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits including paid vacation paid sick leave paid holidays retirement and health insurance. Some travel may be required for this position to assist with recruitment initiatives.

About Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP):
The mission of the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention(JJDP) in the Department of Public Safety is to reduce and prevent juvenile delinquency by effectively operating an integrated comprehensive juvenile justice system that intervenes through education and treatment of youth to promote youth accountability strengthen families and increase public safety.


The Administration Section provides support for Human Resources Purchasing Budget and Maintenance. JJDP HR provides support for recruitment salary administration classification projects payroll and Leave of Absence administration.
