Job Description

Job Title: Senior EHS Advisor

Location: Stockton on Tees UK

The role:

As the Senior EHS Advisor you will help drive our goals by:

  • Technical onsite support to Site Operations and Capital Project teams including (but not limited to): fire safety operational emergency response permitting conducting Risk Assessments and reviewing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) high hazard operations (such as working at height confined space entry asbestos excavations etc.) site shutdown activities contractor safety.
  • To deal with daytoday EHS related operational issues and queries across all Operations and Capital Project team activities including contractor activities.
  • Matrix management responsibility for Operatives performing EHS site operational compliance testing (including statutory testing) of systems including (but not limited to) fire alarm testing/call points testing emergency lighting emergency release doors ladder inspections sprinkler systems PAT testing.
  • Undertake regular workplace inspections audits and behavioural observations to ensure that workplace activities are undertaken in compliance with site standards procedures and rules.
  • Builds and maintains a network of internal and external EHS professionals and ensures transfer of EHS knowledge requirements and best practices across areas of accountability and the wider JM.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Fire NEBOSH certificate
  • General NEBOSH certificate
  • Fire safety workplace experience
  • Basic/vocational education with some relevant EHS workplace experience
