Job Description
The Team
At Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) youll be part of a small local team of about seven dedicated professionals in Prince George as well as supporting the North region comprised of up to 20 professionals in total. . Our team supports the delivery of vital mental health services to youth involved in the justice system including courtordered assessments and treatment for complex behavioral and mental health needs. The Role
In this frontline role youll be the first point of contact at the Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) Prince George Clinic providing essential administrative support that keeps the office running smoothly. Your work will directly contribute to meaningful services for some of the highestrisk youth in B.C.s justice system helping ensure they receive the care and assessments they need. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school / Secondary School graduation (Dogwood GED)
- Twelve (12) months related administrative support/secretarial experience in an office environment; OR
- Equivalent education or training (i.e. successful completion of a recognized legal medical or office assistant certificate program) and work experience may be considered.
- Keyboarding experience with speed and accuracy at 50 words per minute.
- Experience/training in keyboarding word processing proofreading electronic email and other standard computer based applications (i.e. MS Office Suite Word Excel Outlook Teams and Adobe Acrobat).
Preference may be given to the following:
- Records management experience using an electronic case management system (i.e. CARIS ICM ARCS/ORCS/EDRMS etc.)
- Word processing medicolegal documentation experience
- Experience with medical terminology (i.e. medicolegal psychiatric and psychological).
- Experience and/or the skills to cope with working near potentially aggressive violent or otherwise unpredictable youth.
- Experience with dictation/dictatyping

This position has full time onsite requirements.
This is for one (1) permanent opportunity in Prince George.
