All child care employees must:
- Demonstrate competency good judgment and selfcontrol in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities
- Relate to children with courtesy respect acceptance and patience
- Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children their families and their cultures
- Recognize suspected abuse neglect and exploitation and adhere to the laws of reporting this crime
- Ensure children are not abused neglected or exploited
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified through TX Department of Childcare Licensing
- Achieved or in the process of completing requirements for a CDA.
- Current with the required 25 clock hours of training per year as required by CC Licensing
- Current with CPR/First Aid certification for infants/children/adults
- Clearance of Tuberculosis
- Clearance of Criminal History check (annually)
- Clearance of fingerprinting check
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the responsibilities for employees specified caregiversmust:
- Know and comply with the minimum standards for child care centers
- Know which children they are responsible for
- Know each childs name and have information showing each childs age and known allergies
- Supervise children at all times
- Interact with children in a positive manner fostering childrens sense of selfesteem and individuality
- Foster developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned activities that encourage exploration awareness of self and others with their classroom and community
- Foster cooperative atmosphere
- Show appreciation of childrens efforts and accomplishments
- Ensure continuity of care for children by sharing with incoming caregivers information about each childs activities during the previous shift and any verbal or written instructions given by a parent
- Complete the required daily communication forms and give them to parents at pick up. Communicate with parents to instill confidence in you as a teacher the classroom and the Gator Academy.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; other specialized and adaptive equipment used by students
- Posture:Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
- Motion:Frequent walking and reaching
- Lifting:Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and/or positioning students with physical disabilities controlling behavior through physical restraint assisting nonambulatory students and lifting and moving adaptive and other classroom equipment
- Environment:Work inside and outside (exposure to sun heat cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (body fluids bacteria communicable diseases)
- Mental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
- Professional Dress: Dress must be clean neat in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by the Superintendent. During work hours visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed.
EVALUATIONS:
- Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the supervising teacher and campus administrator
