Lead Teacher Job Descriptions
About the role
Etonkids Educational Group is looking for Montessori-certified teachers to lead
classrooms at its international (English-speaking) preschool campuses in Beijing and
other major cities in China.
The Lead Montessori Teacher has primary responsibility for preparing running and
leading the classroom teaching team under the supervision of the campus Principal.
His/her primary role is to guide and direct student s activities in a prepared Montessori
environment that challenges each child to reach his/her full potential in key
developmental areas.
Working hours : Regular working hours shall be Monday to Friday 8 working hours and
1-hour lunch time (8:00am to 5:00pm each campus may differ)
Key Responsibilities
Set-up and maintain an ordered and clean Montessori classroom environment
Prepare Montessori and other teaching materials and activities using the Montessori
method.
Plan organize and lead daily a Montessori 2 to 3-hour work period for multiple
ages of children 2 to 6.
Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum including creating and giving
appropriate presentations.
Lead the classroom teaching team including supervising teaching assistants and
special instructors (e.g. art music) who interact with children in the classroom.
Maintain up-to-date records of the academic and developmental progress of each
child.
Coordinate communication between the school and parents keep parents
well informed about their child s progress and maintain a good working relationship
with parents.
Provide ongoing training guidance and support in the use of the Montessori
curriculum and teaching materials.
Establish and oversee classroom policies and procedures and the administration of
the classroom including classroom budget inventory and supplies reporting and
recordkeeping.
Represent Etonkids and participate at campus school and community events as
needed. (8 times a year as a Volunteer Day
Requirements
- Native English Speaker or BA/MA in Native English Speaking Country (USUKCASAIRNZAUS and other English Speaking Country recognized by China Foreign Experts Bureau) .
- Completed Bachelor s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Master s Degree
- preferred) -non- native speakers are required to have a relevant degree in education.(legalized and authenticated by Chinese Embassy)
- International Montessori certification AMS/AMI 3-6 a MACTE accredited institution of Montessori teacher education preferred)
- At least 2 years teaching experience after receiving Montessori teacher certification
- TEFL/TESOL/ELL Certification (unless degree is in TESOL or Early Childhood Education with 2-year reference letter in teaching.).
- Non-criminal record within 6 months (legalized and authenticated by Chinese Embassy)
- Proven communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills

The Employee should teach at least one extra-curricular class per school term. Extra-curricular courses that take place outside of regular work hours once a week one hour. For such classes the Employee shall earn additional compensation on a per-class basis dictated by the ECA pay scale.
