Job Description

Job Summary:

Designs implements and operations/maintains the sites or enterprises server storage database network client or communication infrastructure.

Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercised considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to of decisions are longlasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Understanding of network administration tools techniques and methods.
  • Fundamental knowledge in networking principles (TCP/IP DNS)
  • Active Directory Domain Administrator Manage and maintain: Sites and Services DNS DHCP Group Policy Objects Computer/User Objects LDAP Authentication protocols AD Permission delegation using the least privilege methodology Dynamic/Static AD groups as well as other Domain services in accordance with MS best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Current versions of Windows (e.g. ServerWindows 10 11 Enterprise)
  • Configure and execute vulnerability scanning tools SCAP/STIG scans (SCC Tool OpenSCAP etc. and perform remediating steps based on findings on Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure /add new services as necessary.
  • Experience with SIEM tool antivirus software etc. other cybersecurity software
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Windows domain architecture experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Server products
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills analytical and problemsolving skills written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Applicant must have some experience with the application of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on operating systems Windows and Linux operating systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities but provides technical leadership and guidance to other Systems Administrators.
  • This includes but is not limited to: training employees planning assigning directing work and resolving technically related work problems. It also includes interaction with other technical teams and assisting in the management of vendor relationships.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree (B.S. from fouryear college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications

  • Required certification: DoD 8571.01M DoD 8140.01M approved Information AssuranceTechnical (IAT) Level II (or an IAT Level III) certification such as CCNA Security CySA GICSP GSEC Security CE CND SSCP etc.

Computer Skills

  • Advanced knowledge and indepth experience with the following:
    • Server/Storage:
      • Windows Server O/S MS Clustering SharePoint/MS Project Server etc
      • Server Infrastructure Technologies
      • AntiVirus software and strategies
      • Server troubleshooting and repair
      • Storage concepts and technologies
      • Server backup strategies methodologies and solutions
    • Network
      • Thorough understanding of Local and Wide Area Networking
      • Network Management Systems
      • Routing Protocols
      • Switching Technologies
      • TCP/IP protocol suite
      • Application protocols
      • Network Security
    • Client
      • Microsoft Active Directory
      • Network Operating System Supporting Technologies
      • Desktop Operating Systems
      • Familiarity with desktop applications
      • EndPoint AntiVirus software and strategies
  • Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook Word Access Excel PowerPoint Project Visio etc.
  • Support ticketing systems change control methodologies and their importance to ITIL best practices
  • IT security concepts and best practices
  • Extensive knowledge of industry trends and best practices in the area of IT infrastructure

  • Follows all import/export requirements consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.
