Job Description
Position Description: MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST II (HVAC Electrical & Plumbing)
Classification: NonExempt Level 17 Range 12Month Work Calendar)
Reports to: Maintenance Coordinator and Director of Business Services
Statement of General Responsibilities:
Under general direction of management personnel assists in maintaining facilities. Does related work as required
Essential Functions and Principal Duties:
Essential functions may include but are not limited to:
- Assists with physical plant maintenance and makes minor plumbing electrical carpentry glazing and painting repairs; receive bids and prices for work to be completed; conducts job walks as required.
- Assists staff with various projects and builds special equipment and program materials as needed.
- Sets up facilities for events.
- Maintains door hardware and key systems
- Moves furniture classroom supplies and equipment to designated locations.
- Performs other maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs installing dead bolts and constructing partitions
- Heating and air conditioning maintenance.
- Assists in restoration of buildings and grounds during school vacation and in coordinating work activities of summer help.
- Keeps equipment clean and in operating order.
- Operates necessary machines tools and equipment.
- Performs related work as required.
Physical Requirements:
Employees in this position must have the following ability:
- Normal manual dexterity and eyehand coordination required to operate power and motorized equipment using both hands.
- Physical agility to frequently stop kneel bend crouch reach overhead grasp push pull lift and move objects up to 50 pounds shoulder height and occasionally lift in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
- Demonstrate normal depth perception.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- See and read printed matter with or without visual aids distinguish colors read and understand rules and policies labels and instructions.
- Verbal communications including the ability to speak and hear at normal room levels.
- Ability to use telephones and office equipment.
Job Requirements: (Minimum Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 2 years of jobrelated experience Required
- HVAC plumbing electrical certification or workrelated experience Preferred
- Valid Arizona Drivers License Required
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10 sitting 20 walking and 70 standing. The job is performed under with some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
