lab technician also known as a laboratory technician is a professional who works in a laboratory performing analytical or experimental procedures and maintaining laboratory equipment. They assist scientists and other professionals in conducting tests experiments and research while also ensuring the labs proper organization and maintenance.
Responsibilities of a Lab Technician:
Sample Handling: Receiving labeling and safely storing samples for analysis.
Testing and Analysis: Performing tests experiments and analysis on samples using various equipment and techniques.
Documentation: Recording and reporting the results of tests and experiments accurately.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper functioning and maintenance of lab equipment.
Lab Organization: Keeping the lab workspace clean organized and safe.
Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations within the lab.
Types of Lab Technicians:
Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs):
Work in clinical settings performing tests on blood urine and other samples to help diagnose and treat diseases.
Scientific Laboratory Technicians:
Assist scientists in research labs conducting experiments and analyzing data in fields like chemistry biology and physics.
Quality Control Lab Technicians:
