Human Resources Specialist
Position Summary
Alberta Classical Academy requires the services of an experienced fulltime 1.0 FTE) Human Resources Specialist at the central office. This probationary position will commence on a mutually agreed hire date or as soon as possible.
Reporting directly to the Office of the Superintendent and members of the Executive Team the Human Resources Specialist will provide expertise and highquality leadership and guidance in the delivery of Human Resources services and initiatives across the organization.
The Human Resources Specialist works with educational leaders and supervisors on matters related but not limited to employee recruitment and selection onboarding and employment processing teaching certificate issuance employee training and development benefits administration and claims management employment records management and employee relations retention and compliance.
Salary for this position is negotiable with a fulltime salary range of $65000 $80000 CAD. The Organization

Core Functions and Responsibilities
- Support of the recruitment process (e.g. preparing job descriptions posting vacancies headhunting candidate screening arranging interviews and preparing and presenting employment offers);
- Support of campus personnel in the ongoing recruitment and management of substitute teachers;
- Assist and support employee onboarding and orientation;
- Support the development implementation and maintenance of employee professional development programs platforms and resources;
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive personnel records within the HRIS system;
- Assist with the development of HR policies and procedures;
- Support organizationwide compliance with policies procedures and applicable regulations;
- Prepare formal HRrelated correspondence (i.e. experience verifications salary confirmations leave of absence);
- Support benefit and pension administration including enrollments changes and terminations;
- Assist employees with benefitsrelated inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed;
- Lead in the development and implementation of initiatives that promote employee wellness and enhance organizational culture;
- Act as the initial point of contact for HRrelated inquiries and where directed conduct thorough investigations and provide effective solutions to employee relations issues;
- Provide highquality advice and service to educational leaders on daily employee relations and performance management issues;
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and recommend improvements;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Alberta Education Responsibilities- Prepare and send annual School Authority Employment Submission;
- Support administration of Classical childcare program (e.g. Alberta childcare affordability grants and subsidies);
- Monitor and process teaching certificate issuance.
The ideal candidate will possess the following educational and professional qualifications: Education and Experience- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or an undergraduate degree and a postsecondary diploma/certificate in Human Resources required;
- Professional Human Resources Designation CPHR Albertaor equivalent) or the ability to qualify for a designation is required;
- Minimum of 35 years of employment experience in Human Resources is required;
- Experience in the educational context and knowledge of ATRF pension requirements is an asset.

- Excellence in attention to detail time management and organizational skills;
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to think strategically.
