Summary/Objective The Quality Technician II in support of and under the direction of the Quality Engineer and/or Manager analyzes and solves quality problems develops CMM programs prepares inspection plans and instructions selects sampling plan applications prepares procedures trains inspectors performs audits analyzes quality data and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control.

Proficiently program and operate CMM to ensure accurate product measurements and compliance with quality standards.
Perform product inspections and testing to meet customer and company quality specifications generating quality documents such as inspection reports certificates of conformance and material certification packets for customers.
Maintain the instrument calibration system (e.g. Gagetrack) ensuring all instruments are calibrated documented and maintained according to established procedures.
Support the s/rework process for discrepant products ensuring proper documentation and corrective action implementation.
Conduct gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies as necessary.
Support ISO Quality System requirements and assist in conducting process audits to ensure compliance.
Maintain the corrective action log and database ensuring timely and accurate documentation of corrective actions.
Facilitate the movement of parts and components as required utilizing appropriate mobility tools including manual handling carts and powered lift trucks.
Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
Any/all other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and seldom lifting to 75lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching pushing pulling gripping and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses and steel toed work boots or shoes. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a fulltime 2nd shift position with a typical schedule of MondayFriday 3:00 PM 11:30 PM 8 hours/day). Occasional overtime evening and weekend work may be required to meet business needs.
Required Education and Experience
Must be 18 years or older.
High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
2 years of experience within quality control in a manufacturing environment practicing ISO 9001.
2 years of experience with CMM operation (Zeiss hardware and/or Calypso Software preferred)
Average level of computer literacy specifically Office 365 (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
Capable of using measuring instruments i.e. micrometer calipers gages etc.
Ability to read/write perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred Education and Experience
Proficient use of Coordinating Measuring Machine (CMM) optical comparators and other tools and equipment used to inspect.
Associates Degree in Quality Assurance or a related industrial program.
Certification in metal trades industry or Quality Control.
Prior experience in gage calibration and maintenance with ability to manage and oversee related processes.
