Quality and Education Coordinators are Registered Nurses that work in partnership with the care team to manage and coordinate quality improvement education and auditing requirements to maintain compliance with all relevant accreditation standards. They proactively manage all aspects of clinical risk to minimise potential harm to residents and staff and litigation now and into the future. They provide effective leadership and coordination of education across the home complying with the education framework and capability frameworks and drive the implementation and evaluation of operational strategies for Quality Safety and Training initiatives. Things that work for us
Availability to work full time Monday to Friday
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
Previous experience in a similar role and/or experience in the residential aged care sector
Desirable qualifications are Post graduate qualifications in Healthcare leadership/management Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Certificate and Certificate IV in Training and Assessing
Ability to provide a service consistent with the mission and philosophy of the home.
Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members
Actively participate in and leads learning and research projects locally
Coordinate education activities provides face to face training and develop and facilitate on-line training as required
Ability to provide resources to managers and staff in clinical and safety risk processes inclusive of clinical documentation risk assessment and systems incident and feedback data entry review analysis and reporting
Demonstrate application of risk management practices within aged care / community care with provision of processes and systems to minimise risk parameters
Lead the quality improvement process within the facility ensuring that all quality improvement activities are captured in Riskman
Ensure the facilities audit scheduled is followed within the facility
Undertake relevant clinical documentation audits medication administration practice and privacy compliance audits and develop improvement strategies in consultation with Clinical Managers
Manage clinical risk related action plans and associated policy development for clinical incidents and identified trends in incidents
Liaise with National WHS Manager on relevant issues that affect St Vincents Health Australia review and make recommendations regarding WH&S risk related action plans for the home
