Join Ontario Healths Quality Standards Program as a Research Analyst and help shape the future of healthcare in Ontario. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong research and analytical skills passionate about improving health outcomes through evidence-based standards. Youll collaborate with clinical experts internal teams and external stakeholders to develop high-impact quality standards and drive meaningful change across the health system.

Here is what you will be doing:

Research & Content Development

• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and appraise clinical practice guidelines.

• Analyze Ontario-specific data and synthesize findings to inform quality standards.

• Prepare evidence summaries reports and presentation materials.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify priority areas for research.

• Support expert advisory committees and summarize proceedings.

• Facilitate consultations to refine project scopes and ensure alignment with system needs.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver projects on time and within budget.

• Coordinate activities across teams and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Maintain strong relationships across departments and with external partners.

Strategic Impact

• Provide leadership in identifying optimal care practices and quality improvement opportunities.

• Contribute to the development of standards that address gaps in care and promote health equity.

• Support initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Ontarios healthcare system.

• An undergraduate degree in social or health sciences health administration public health epidemiology or a related field is required

• A masters degree in social or health sciences health administration public health epidemiology or a related field is preferred

• Two to four years of experience using research methods appraising evidence knowledge of the Canadian health care system

• Two years of experience in clinical and/or quality improvement-related content development is preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• An understanding of Ontarios health care system including gaps between actual and ideal care reasons for these gaps and potential mechanisms available to address them

• An understanding of health equity including the social determinants of health and their impacts on health outcomes for different populations

• Strong research and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in conducting literature reviews or systematic reviews critical appraisal and analysis of findings

• Knowledge of bibliographic databases and excellent computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and virtual meeting software (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint MS Teams Zoom)

• Proven ability to establish positive working relationships; strong skills

• Must be team-oriented possess a positive attitude and work well with a broad network of teams colleagues and external stakeholders as well as work well independently

• Excellent written and oral communication skills; including ability to prepare presentation materials reports evidence summaries meeting minutes etc.

• A novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions

• Demonstrated initiative and independence to take appropriate action and anticipate organizational needs

• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to seek and weigh opinions and evidence compromising where necessary on ways and means but not on principles or goals

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy; responsible and highly motivated

• Ability to prioritize and manage several projects in a cross-functional team environment and to respond quickly based on timelines and project plans

• Capacity to work effectively in a rapid-pace work environment; ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner with high-quality results
