This role is within the Public Sector Solutions Architecture team working with public sector customers in Queensland. As a public sector Senior Solution Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS) you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazons utility computing web services within strategic accounts.
As a Senior Solutions Architect youll help your customers plan their successful cloud journey. Youll solve complex technical challenges so your customers can focus on their business. This includes using your knowledge to craft scalable flexible and resilient cloud architectures. Youll drive technical solutions discussions diving deep into the details with customer teams.
Building relationships to understand our customers and partners is key. As a trusted technical advisor youll use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives. Youll help ensure their shortterm technology decisions are aligned with their longterm goals. Speeding up the adoption of our services will be part of your day to day.
Youll also act as thought leader in the wider community. This includes playing a lead role in educating sharing best practices presenting at events writing white papers blogs and running workshops. You wont just be part of an industry movement; youll be leading it.
As a customer obsessed advisor youll also have the chance to shape the direction of our products and services. This is through gathering feedback from customers whilst collaborating with our engineering and service teams.

Serve as a key technical member of the Business Development team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS platform.
Scope each customer engagement with attention towards clear and welldefined objectives and success criteria.
Own technical direction and design and help ensure a timely and successful engagement of customer technical staff or AWS partners for implementation.
Advocate for the customer within AWS. Engage other AWS experts where necessary and drive the AWS roadmap to meet customer requirements.
Capture and share bestpractice knowledge amongst the solution architect community
Provide thought leadership through public presentations and production of technical materials.

8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
5 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience
Experience working with end user or developer communities
